Aranock was left abandoned. The great heroes were gone; Shiva and her invading army flooded the city on the eve of a Bad Moon. The night was far worse then any prophecy had ever fortold. At the first sign of Gargoyles the guards at the outpost were unable to even shout for help before their bodies lay desicrated and left in a pile. They entered the city with a great roar, and the townsfolk fled through the unknown eastern exit of the city. Faced with a vast desert in the middle of the night, they moved on, watching from a distance as their city was destroyed. Aranock had fallen. The citizens continued their journey through the desert for many days and nights before reaching an outpost. Discovering a new Land, the people told their stories of the fearful night. Stories of a powerful spellcaster invading their city like a plague, taking all that they had at any cost. They discovered the land they'd fled to was the Kingdom of Aran, a vast desert of caverns and mines. The city of Aran lies on the other side of the Forbidden Mountain just south of the Outpost. Months went by while the Aranockians stayed at this outpost, word of mouth travelled across the Kingdom of the defeat of Aranock. The call for heroes went out once more... Shiva's power grew, as did her allies. Her Golem brigade explored the lower levels of the city for new creatures to add to her armies. In the deepest waste tunnels under the city, she discovered the Onyx Gargoyles, led by their King, Toxicus. She agreed to give the Onyx King control of Aranock in return for the key to Elysium, the ancient home of the Gods. Toxicus, unaware of the key's true purpose, handed it over to the dark power of Shiva. Shiva happily left Aranock with her key to Elysium, and gathered her forces at the Black Stronghold to begin mapping out where the Mountain of the Gods was located. Toxicus and his Onyx Gargoyles rushed up to the town, but were blinded by the daylight which shined over the land of Aranock. They were forced to retreat to their dark tunnels. The called on the aid of the Spider King, Arach, their faithfull ally, and enlisted them to protect the city in return for a share to the waste which flooded the tunnels of the Onyx Kingdom. Now the heroes have returned and reclaimed the city from the spiders, but they still suffer attacks from Shiva and her armies and allies. The gargoyles of the Onyx Kingdom continue to bide their time, waiting for a chance to strike and claim the city they were promised by Shiva.   What is Aranock? What is Aranock? Aranock Online is a free online massively multiplayer role playing game (MMORPG). Aranock is based off of the now-closed game called Mercenaries of Astonia V2, which was a much loved game. Aranock aims to improve on it with all new graphics, quests and game play. Although Astonia is closed, its legacy continues, and we have many original Astonia players playing Aranock, and new players join us every day.
